Las Vegas police arrest Laughlin man in connection with shooting of his girlfriend

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department were called to a shooting incident at an apartment complex in Laughlin around 10:30 a.m. on June 24.

Officers arrived in the 1700 block of Cal Edison Drive and found an unconscious woman inside an apartment suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

An investigation by the LVMPD Homicide Unit revealed that the victim was shot by her boyfriend, 43-year-old Paul Herrera, during an argument. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on murder charges.

The identity of the victim and the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
