Jeremy Renner shows scars for the first time since his accident

Jeremy Renner is not here to hide the physical memories of his life-threatening snow plow accident in January 2023.

The Hawkeye Star posed bare-chested for the cover of Men’s Health The magazine’s July/August issue proudly displays the scars of the incident. The 53-year-old actor’s scars from the numerous surgeries he has undergone are clearly visible on his back, shoulders and stomach.

Renner, who suffered life-threatening injuries and was placed on life support after the accident, reflected on his journey and the new physical scars he bears. In a video accompanying the magazine, he shared, “I never really had scars before; they were probably more emotional, mental scars, you know? And now I have some physical ones as well. But the physical ones aren’t even from the accident, they’re just from the accident. All of these are just memories of what could have been a really bad day.”

The harrowing incident occurred on New Year’s Day 2023 when Renner was helping his nephew Alex move a stuck vehicle when his snow plow began to slip and roll. While trying to protect his nephew, Mayor of Kingstown The actor was caught in the machine and eventually crushed, resulting in over 30 broken bones and numerous other injuries.

Last year, Renner explained how he went from being unable to walk to using a cane and now being able to walk independently thanks to daily training. Reflecting on his recovery, Renner told the outlet, “I’m glad I’m here and I’m going to continue to nurture what you take with you: those shared experiences with the people you love. They’re eternal and you take them with you.”

Renner and the magazine released a joint Instagram post of the cover on Tuesday, June 25, which quickly garnered hundreds of comments from celebs and fans alike. Stars like Selma Blair and Walton Goggins left their congratulations, with Goggins hilariously commenting, “You are a beautiful man,” which garnered over 300 likes.

Fans’ comments continued: “This man is a freaking machine!!!! He’s truly a superhero!!! I’m amazed at how far he’s come after such traumatic injuries,” one user commented. Another hilariously noted: “The guy gets run over and squashed and still looks better than most people 😂.”
