Harris County officials arrest two people who raced on highway and caused serious crash | Upper Gulf Coast

Houston, Texas – Harris County officials arrested two men Saturday for racing on a highway that resulted in a serious three-car crash.

Officers were called to the accident near the 10400 block of South Sam Houston Parkway East on June 22, 2024. Upon arrival, they conducted a thorough investigation, the press release said. A witness stated that the vehicles were racing alongside each other at a high rate of speed.

Officers arrested two men: 20-year-old Jose Chacon, who was driving a black Charger R/T, and 32-year-old James Sanchez, who was driving a gray Mustang GT. Both men were taken to the Harris County Jail and arrested without incident, the source said.
