LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Nevada State Police say the woman who died in a crash that injured three teens was driving too fast.

The accident occurred Sunday morning, June 16, on Cheyenne Avenue, east of 215. A preliminary investigation by police revealed that the woman, driving a 2009 Jaguar XF, was traveling eastbound when she attempted to change lanes and struck a curb that separated her lane from the continuous lane of travel.

The report states that the woman lost control of the car when it spun, hit a traffic light pole and caught fire. The three teenagers in the car were able to get out of the vehicle, but the driver was not able to and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Their identities will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office. The teens were taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
