2 dead in helicopter crash in Washington state: authorities | World news

Two men were killed in a helicopter crash in eastern Washington state, authorities said.

Brandon Larmer, chief of Lincoln County’s 6th Fire District, said KREM TV that the helicopter had two people on board when it crashed on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased men were identified Thursday as 68-year-old Ryan Sandvig of Spokane and 63-year-old Mark Manteuffel of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, according to the Lincoln County coroner.

According to the National Transportation Safety Board, the Robinson R-44 helicopter crashed near Bluestem, Washington state.

The agency is conducting investigations jointly with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
