Police in Wilder search for person accused of abandoning 5 cats outside animal shelter

Wilder police are searching for a person accused of abandoning several cats outside an animal shelter on Tuesday.

According to Wilder police, the occupant of a black Kia Soul with an Ohio license plate abandoned five cats in a cage outside the Protect 4 Paws animal shelter.

Police said the incident happened around 8:40 on Wednesday evening and released photos of the car, which can be seen below.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Wilder Police Department at 859-581-8863.

“Look for legal ways to house your animals, not cruel ways to abandon them,” the agency said in a press release on Wednesday.
