In addition to violating probation, 64-year-old Jeffrey David Craven is accused of possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a weapon in the form of several rounds of live ammunition.

Officers also arrested 32-year-old Amber Leigh Darby and charged her on a warrant for violating probation on a drug offense and resisting an officer.

When officers arrived at the home on Thursday and did not see her, a resident of the home told them she was hiding in a chest in the detached garage. After ordering her to come out, officers opened the chest and found her hiding inside.

Craven had been on probation for possession of a controlled substance for nearly a month, according to arrest reports. The probation sentence was set to end on November 19, 2025.

In his bedroom, officers found six live shotgun shells, one .22 caliber and one .45 caliber, reports say. They also found a glass pipe in a decorative pipe that contained a white crystalline substance that tested positive for methamphetamine in a field test.

Officers arrested Craven, reports said, and continued their search. In the attic, they found a gun magazine with seven live 9mm cartridges. They also found three vacuum-sealed bags and another plastic bag containing a green, leaf-like substance that field-tested positive for THC, the substance found in marijuana. Together, they weighed 902.6 grams, or 31.83 ounces.

He made a statement that was redacted from the reports and was taken to the Highlands County Jail without incident, reports said.
