Foreigner raped in Himachal Pradesh: Polish woman sexually abused in McLeodganj, accused arrested

Dharamsala, June 14: A man was arrested on Friday for allegedly raping a Polish woman in McLeodganj, Himachal Pradesh, near here, police said. The victim had lodged a police complaint a day earlier, claiming that she was raped. Kangra’s deputy superintendent of police Hitesh Lakhanpal told the media that the accused was arrested after a case was registered against him under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code. The police recorded her statement before the magistrate. The victim, who had enrolled in a meditation course, had been staying in McLeodganj for the past three weeks. She contacted the accused, who offered her a rented apartment.
