Finalists Selected for Atlanta Public Schools Superintendent Position

ATLANTA — The search for a superintendent for Atlanta Public Schools is almost over. The district completed interviews and named three finalists for the position.

Interviews took place June 9-11 and the School Board presented the finalists to a community panel. The panel heard a prepared presentation and asked direct questions. The jury then received feedback and met in executive session to further evaluate the candidates.

“We are proud to remain transparent throughout this process and confident that it will enable the Atlanta Board of Education to select the leader best suited for APS students, faculty, staff and the community,” the Atlanta school board said in a statement.

Due to state law, the names of finalists will not be released until the process is complete. The district hopes to have a superintendent in place by July 1.
