Arrest after incident of aggression behind the wheel that led to fatal shooting

BATON ROUGE – Police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting in late May.

Baton Rouge police said they arrested 32-year-old Dilson Ramirez on Wednesday. Ramirez is accused of shooting 27-year-old Leonel Valeuy-Morales on May 26.

The shooting occurred along Riverlon Avenue, less than a mile from the Department of Public Safety buildings, the Main Library and Liberty Lagoon.

Residents of the area told WBRZ at the time that gun violence was unusual in the area.

Ramirez was arrested on Wednesday.
