Man accused of opening fire in downtown Atlanta food court, injuring 3 people identified – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — The man who Atlanta police say shot three people in the Peachtree Center food court in downtown Atlanta Tuesday afternoon before being fatally shot by an APD officer was identified.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said 34-year-old felon Jeremy Malone, of Morrow, got into an argument in the food court just after 2 p.m. He is accused of shooting the person he was arguing with before continuing shooting, injuring two other people.

Early Friday morning, Malone was booked into the Fulton County Jail on charges of aggravated assault, child cruelty and more.

Police identified the victims as a 47-year-old man from Grayson, a 69-year-old woman from East Point and a 70-year-old woman from Atlanta. Their identities have not been released.

Police said Malone had served time in prison and had 11 previous arrest cycles.

“I hear a gunshot, then I think someone dropped something, then I hear another gunshot, then another gunshot, and another gunshot,” said witness Kemba Walker Jr.. “And then I see people scattering, running everywhere.”

Malone is currently being held at the Fulton County Jail
