Accident on Route 309 and Bergey Road on Saturday afternoon is still under investigation, police said

Hatfield police said an investigation is ongoing into the cause of a crash and subsequent vehicle rescue on Route 309 Saturday afternoon that closed Bergey Road for more than four hours.

Police confirmed that two vehicles were involved in the accident, which left three people taken to Grand View Hospital.

The police did not provide any information about the condition of the injured.

The accident was reported shortly after 5 p.m. on Route 309/Bethlehem Pike and Bergey Road in Hatfield Township.
Paramedics from Grand View Hospital were called to the scene to assist VMSC EMS.

According to reports from the scene, a white Toyota Camry and a light blue Ford Escape SUV were involved in the accident.

A male driver had to be rescued from the Toyota.

Bergey Road was closed in both directions from Richmond Road to Bethlehem Pike. Route 309 South was narrowed to one lane.

Hatfield Township Police were assisted at the scene by Freedom Valley Medical Rescue Fire Department, as well as Hatfield Fire Co., Perseverance Fire Co. and Colmar Vol. Fire Co. Fire Department.
