Rape: Man arrested for raping two girls in Pakur | Ranchi News

Dumka: A day after two girls, including a minor, were raped in a forest area in Pakur district on Thursday, a person was arrested on Friday, police said. The survivors, aged 12 and 19, living in the same area, filed a complaint on Friday claiming that they accompanied two male acquaintances on motorcycles to a market on Thursday night to get their mobile phones repaired. The two men then took them to the forest area where they summoned their friends over the phone. Around 10 friends came on motorcycles and allegedly committed the crime along with the two boys before fleeing. The girls reached a nearby village and took shelter at the house of a family acquaintance for the night, according to the complaint. Meanwhile, the family members of the survivors approached the police on Friday when both of them did not return home and their efforts to trace them were in vain. The girls were recovered from the village and taken to a government hospital for medical examination and treatment. Pakur SP Prabhat Kumar said, “One person has been arrested and is being interrogated,” but declined to give details as raids were underway to arrest the remaining accused.
