Officers arrived at the scene of the crash at the intersection of Union Road and Mayslanding Road just after 11 a.m. The preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford F-250 pickup truck was traveling westbound on Mayslanding Road toward the intersection. John Mahoney’s Toyota crossed into the path of the pickup truck when it failed to stop, causing the collision, police said.

John Mahoney and his passenger Patrick were pronounced dead at the scene. The Ford driver was flown by helicopter to Cooper University Hospital in Camden as a precaution and was in stable condition on Tuesday afternoon.

No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this case can contact the Vineland Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit at 856-691-4111, extension 4698.
