Kentucky State Police classifies accident on KY 70 as fatal

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – The accident that occurred Thursday on KY 70 in Hopkins County has been ruled fatal.

According to a preliminary investigation by Kentucky State Police, 38-year-old Justin Hilt of Dawson Springs was traveling westbound attempting to pass another vehicle when he collided head-on with a dump truck about three miles west of Madisonville, according to KSP.

The Hopkins County Coroner pronounced Hilt dead at the scene.

The investigation is currently still ongoing.
