One dead and two shots fired in suspected drive-by shooting near Murray TRAX station, police say

MURRAY — Murray police are investigating the shooting of three men Thursday night near a Utah Transit Authority TRAX station.

Murray Police spokeswoman Kristin Reardon told KSL that all three victims were shot near W Fireclay Avenue and Birkhill Blvd.

Reardon said the three were taken to a local hospital with minor to serious injuries. Police reported that one of the men succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at the hospital.

Police believe it was a drive-by shooting and an isolated incident between two groups.

In a press release, police describe the suspect’s car as “a white four-door car.”

UTA tweeted that there will be delays of up to 20 minutes on the red, blue and green TRAX lines due to police activity in the area.
