Although Diddy is considered one of the most influential rappers in the music industry, his reputation took a hit after several women accused him of sexual abuse and human trafficking. In November 2023, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura filed a lawsuit accusing him of rape and abuse. According to People Magazine, Ventura claimed the musician sexually abused her throughout their relationship. The magazine reported that the rapper raped Ventura when she ended their relationship. Diddy denied the allegations and criticized Ventura for making “outrageous” claims. In a statement, Diddy claimed that Ventura demanded $30 million after she threatened to write him a book. Although Ventura denied the claims, she agreed to a settlement to their “mutual satisfaction.”

However, a week later, another woman filed a lawsuit against Diddy, claiming he drugged her before raping her. According to People Magazine, the alleged incident occurred in 1991 when the victim was still a college student. Meanwhile, another woman accused him of rape and sexual assault. Citing the complaint, the publication stated that the musician raped the victim and one of her friends in New York City three decades ago. Since then, three more women have accused the musician of similar types of predatory behavior.

Amid these abuse allegations, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) raided Diddy’s homes in Miami and Los Angeles. ABC News reported that the raids were part of the ongoing investigation. The raids reportedly took place after one of Diddy’s victims filed a complaint in December 2023, alleging that she was the victim of gang rape and sexual exploitation in 2003.

Recently, a sixth woman sued the rapper, claiming that he drugged and raped her in New York City in the 1990s. Citing court documents, People Magazine mentioned that the lawsuit sued the rapper and his record labels for “assault, sexual assault, negligent infliction of emotional distress and violation of the Gender-Based Violence Protection Act.” In addition, she claimed that Diddy called her to celebrate Father’s Day with Bad Boy Records and initially treated her kindly, but his behavior changed and turned into an “abusive relationship” based on sex.

In her complaint, the woman also claimed that the first incident occurred in 1995, when Diddy forced her to drink alcohol at a New York bar. Afterward, the rapper took her to his hotel, where he “raped” her despite her attempts to “avoid that interaction.” The second incident occurred in the presence of a parking garage attendant, where Diddy forced her to perform “oral sex.” The incident caused her to “distance herself” from Diddy, but she met him again after he threatened her.

Diddy then forced her to take “ecstasy” in his Manhattan apartment in 1996. According to People Magazine, the musician forced the victim and his girlfriend to have sex with each other. When the victim resisted, Diddy threatened to have her fired from her job. According to court documents (via CNN), Diddy then sexually abused her. The lawsuit stated: “She felt that if she disobeyed him, he would take away her dream of a career in his world. Mr. Combs also threatened to blacklist her from the industry if she tried to mess with him in any way.”

The recently filed lawsuit comes just two days after a woman claimed that Diddy drugged her and then sexually assaulted her. According to BBC, the incident occurred in 2003 when the rapper offered her alcohol and marijuana to get her high. After that, he forced her to have oral sex with him. In addition, the victim claimed that she had suffered many setbacks in her modeling career and blamed Diddy for it. She even attempted to commit suicide due to depression and anxiety.

Despite multiple allegations of rape, sexual abuse and sex trafficking, authorities have not yet filed any charges against the rapper.

Although Diddy has denied all allegations made against him, he recently uploaded an apology video on social media after CNN released a disturbing video of him punching Cassie Ventura. The video shows the rapper coming out of his hotel room and chasing Ventura in the lobby. He then grabs her by the neck and throws her to the ground. He also kicked her before taking her wallet and suitcase. As soon as the video went viral, the musician apologized and said he takes full responsibility for his actions.

Diddy said: “It’s so hard to reflect on the darkest times in life, but sometimes you have to. I’ve hit rock bottom – but I’m not making any excuses. My behavior in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my behavior in that video. I have sought professional help. I am so sorry.”

Since the allegations of rape and sexual assault against Diddy surfaced, the rapper has suffered a slump in his musical career. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the artist saw a 51.8% drop between December 2023 and May 2024.
