4 Buffalo Bills who are candidates to be cut this summer

In early June, the Buffalo Bills will have additional cap space as the release of Tre’Davious White is finalized. Although he was released in March, the Bills designated him for release on June 1 in order to circumvent some of the dead cap space associated with the move.

Since the Bills could have additional cap space, the front office could make a few more moves in free agency. If they do, they will have to release players because the roster is currently full and some players could be cut to create this room.

The Buffalo Bills recently signed Deion Jones and even though he is a former Pro Bowl linebacker, he is fighting for a spot on the team this summer. The veteran had one-year stops with the Cleveland Browns and Carolina Panthers after six seasons with the Atlanta Falcons.

However, since leaving the Falcons, he has primarily been a backup linebacker and has not had the same impact during his time in Atlanta. For the Buffalo Bills, it makes sense that they would draft a player like Jones because he has experience and they had a lot of injuries towards the end of last season.

The challenge is that they don’t have many spots available at the position and given that they have Matt Milano, Terrel Bernard, Dorian Williams and fifth-round pick Edefuan Ulofoshio as locks, that leaves one or two spots. That means Jones is competing with Nicholas Morrow and Baylon Spector for those.

If Jones struggles during OTAs, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Bills release the veteran considering he had no guaranteed money in his one-year deal.
