Three injured in violent shooting in Paterson

The Passaic County District Attorney’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into a triple shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in Paterson.

RLS Media learned that the incident came to light around 1:50 a.m. when a male victim was admitted to the emergency room of St. Joseph’s Hospital with a gunshot wound to the back.

According to preliminary reports, an off-duty police officer at the hospital noticed traces of blood and weapons paraphernalia in the vehicle used to drop off the victim.

Following this discovery, Paterson Police detectives identified and secured a crime scene near 449 East 30th Street.

Shortly after the crime scene was identified, hospital staff notified police of two additional gunshot victims who had been admitted to the emergency room.

According to initial reports, none of the injuries sustained in the incident were life-threatening.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. Paterson Police are working closely with the District Attorney’s Office to determine the circumstances surrounding this violent incident.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
