Porsche accident in Pune: Minor accused was caught on camera drinking in a bar before the accident | Regard

A day after the 17-year-old accused was released on bail in the Porsche accident case in Pune, a new video has surfaced. Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly Vijay Wadettiwar posted the video on X and demanded a judicial probe into the accident case in which two techies lost their lives.

In the video, the 17-year-old boy, who allegedly rammed two techies – Awadhiya and Ashwini Costa – with his bike, was seen at a pub with some other people. Awadhiya and Ashwini Costa, who belonged to Madhya Pradesh, died on the spot after the accident.

While sharing the video, Vijay Wadettiwar questioned the Pune Police’s investigation and how the minor accused got hold of the alcohol. The Congress leader asked why the police took long delay in taking action against the father of the minor accused.

“There should be a judicial inquiry into the Pune accident that claimed the lives of two innocent people. There is a question mark behind the Pune Police investigation, so a judicial inquiry should be conducted in this case. Police have reported that the alcohol test of the accused in the Pune accident was negative. The surveillance footage of the accused, who is a minor, shows that he is drunk and this report raises a question mark over the police investigation,” wrote Vijay Wadettiwar in Marathi.

“How did the underage defendant get alcohol? How did an unregistered car end up on the road in Pune? Are bars and pubs opening by breaking the rules? If so, why is there no action against them? Why did it take so long to arrest the defendant’s father even though he knew he was a minor? Therefore, we demand a judicial inquiry into the said incident and in this case also an inquiry by the Pune police,” he added.

In the video, the 17-year-old defendant can be seen in a bar having a drink with some people who are apparently friends with him. “The city police arrested the bar owner and the bar manager, who served alcohol to the minor accused on the night of the accident,” Pune CP Amitesh Kumar told ANI.

Police arrested the minor accused’s father, a prominent real estate developer of the city, and booked him under Sections 75 and 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act.

The minor accused was granted bail by the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) on May 20 with conditions such as writing an essay on the accident and working with the traffic police for 15 days.
