Police said the shots fired at properties in Solihull were an “isolated incident”.

Multiple shots were fired at properties on two streets in Solihull and police made three arrests. The shots were fired in Rover Drive in Smiths Wood and also two and a half miles away in Kingshurst Way in Kingshurst on Bank Holiday night Monday (May 6). No injuries were reported.

West Midlands Police attended the incidents and made three arrests, a woman aged 29, a man aged 31 and a second man aged 34 – all of whom were arrested at a property in Birmingham. The three were arrested on suspicion of weapons possession and remain in custody.

Police said the firearms incidents were “isolated” incidents and that the general public was not at risk. Officers remain in the area collecting evidence and conducting further investigations.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Three people have been arrested following shootings at addresses in Solihull last night. A 31-year-old man, a 29-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man were arrested in the early hours after shots were fired in Rover Drive and Kingshurst Way.

“We attended the scene and identified the three, who were arrested a short time later from an address in Birmingham. Officers remain at the scene to collect evidence and conduct further investigations.

“All three people were arrested on suspicion of weapons possession and remain in custody. We would like to reassure the public that this was an isolated incident and did not cause major concern in the community. Luckily no one was injured in the incident.”
