Senior police officer suspended for aiding and abetting accused, Pantheerankavu dowry case, cop suspended, alleged aiding and abetting

Kozhikode: Pantheerankavu station senior civil police officer Sarath Lal has been suspended over allegations that he helped Rahul, the main accused in the Pantheerankavu domestic violence case, to flee the country. The suspension comes on the basis of evidence pointing to regular telephone contact between Sarath Lal and Rahul as well as a meeting at Rahul’s home. The station house officer, AS Sarin, had already been suspended for alleged lapses in the investigation.

The investigation team led by Assistant Commissioner Saju K Abraham along with the forensic department conducted an inspection of Rahul’s residence and car on Saturday afternoon and collected evidence.
