Knoxville, TN police are investigating two fatal shootings near North Broadway

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – Knoxville Police are investigating two separate shootings near North Broadway that occurred Saturday morning that have detectives investigating a possible connection.

Knoxville police reported the first shooting at 10:38 a.m. and said officers responded to the 400 block of North Broadway “a short time ago.” At this location, police found a man who had died from a gunshot wound.


At this time, Knoxville police said no suspect information was available and the investigation was in its early stages.

Just minutes later, at 10:42 a.m., Knoxville police reported a second fatal shooting at Anderson Automotive Towing on Cooper Street, less than a half-mile from the 400 block of North Broadway. Knoxville police said another man was pronounced dead at the second crime scene. In that shooting, police said the suspect or suspects reportedly drove away in a black SUV.

A spokesman for the Knoxville Police Department reported that investigators are investigating the possibility that the two shootings are related, but this has not been confirmed.
