Man gets 30 years in prison for raping five-year-old girl in UP

Bijnor, May 17 (SocialNews.XYZ) Special Judge Prakash Chand Shukla of the POCSO court in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh has sentenced a 24-year-old man to 30 years rigorous imprisonment after convicting him of raping a 5-year-old had. old girl in November 2021.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on the convict, of which Rs 80,000 will be paid to the survivor, Additional District Government Adviser (ADGC) Yogendra Singh said.

According to Singh, a woman from Mandavali area in Bijnor had lodged a complaint that her daughter was on her way to a madrasa when the accused lured her with sweets and raped her on November 6, 2021.

The child somehow managed to get home and informed his parents.

“Based on the complaint of the parents, the police have registered a case under IPC Section 376ab (Whoever commits rape of a woman below 12 years of age shall be punished with rigorous imprisonment) and relevant sections of the POCSO Act against the accused,” the ADGC said in the Thursday’s verdict.
