Cambria County man charged with sexual assault of minor | WTAJ

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Cambria County man is accused of sexually abusing a child on multiple occasions, starting when he was about 11 or 12 years old.

Robert Hook Jr., 36, is charged after allegedly assaulting multiple minors over a two-year period, according to a criminal complaint. On July 20, 2023, a 13-year-old came forward and told a relative and a social worker that she had been sexually abused by Hook.

Speaking to authorities, the girl said it started when she was about 11 or 12 years old. She described several instances in which Hook allegedly touched her inappropriately and performed sexual acts on her, the affidavit said.

The child also described another alleged instance in which Hook forced her to perform sexual acts on herself, police determined. The victim alerted a relative to the abuse through a handwritten note that said, “Hook raped me,” adding that she was afraid he would hurt her.

In April 2023, another child came forward claiming to have witnessed one of the sexual assaults, according to the complaint.

Hook is in the Cambria County Jail with bond set at 10% of $500,000. He is charged with multiple felony counts of statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, indecent assault of a person under 13 years of age and corruption of minors.
