Reds’ game against Braves postponed Tuesday; doubleheader to make up for it

Tuesday’s game between the Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves at Truist Park has been postponed due to heavy rain that hit the Atlanta area for much of the night. As a result, the two teams are scheduled to play a day-night doubleheader Wednesday to conclude the series. The game originally scheduled for 12:20 p.m. Wednesday will go ahead as scheduled, while Tuesday’s game will be made up at 6:05 p.m. The Braves have announced that a separate ticket will be required to attend each game. The Reds, who are coming off a 4-1 win over the Braves on Monday night thanks to a gem from All-Star pitcher Hunter Greene, are just 1-3 since the All-Star break after last weekend’s sweep at the hands of the Washington Nationals. At 48-53, the Reds are in the midst of a crucial stretch of their schedule as management tries to figure out which direction to go at next week’s trade deadline or whether to hold their ground heading into the offseason. As of Tuesday night, the Reds sit 9.5 games behind the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Central and four games out of the third NL wild-card spot. After Wednesday’s doubleheader in Atlanta, the Reds will travel to Florida to face the Tampa Bay Rays for a three-game series this weekend.
