SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) – The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help after posting on Facebook that a contractor was arrested and charged for working as a contractor in the area without a license.

According to the SRCSO’s Facebook post, a fraud alert was issued for the region after 34-year-old Aron Carrillo allegedly worked as an unlicensed contract worker throughout the Florida Panhandle, Alabama and Louisiana for two years.

Carillo allegedly “took $19,000 for a job that required a contractor’s license and an electrical license,” the post said. “He also failed to obtain the necessary permits and inspections for the job.”

In addition, he reportedly caused an estimated $50,000 in damage to a home he was working on, “including possibly damaging support beams critical to the structural integrity of the home,” according to the SRCSO.

Carrillo operated under the name Tres Carrillos LLC, authorities said.

The post said Carrillo was charged with grand theft, two counts of contracting without a license and failure to obtain a business license. He is being held in the Gadsden County Jail awaiting extradition, authorities said.

The SRCSO is urging anyone who has previously done business with Carrillo to contact them at 850-983-1100 and file a report.
