Two Atlanta Starbucks Vote to Unionize

These locations join just a handful of others in the Atlanta metro area that voted to unionize, bringing the total to six.

ATLANTA — Two metro Atlanta Starbucks locations have joined more than 400 stores in voting to unionize.

According to an article by Starbucks workers united On the social media platform X, here are the store locations:

  • Holcomb Bridge and Forest – Roswell
  • North Point and Haynes–Alpharetta Bridge

These locations join just a handful of others in the Atlanta metro area that voted to unionize, bringing the total to six.

In July, unionized stores wrote to Starbucks’ CEO, saying employees felt the company “may have ignored our individual voices” on several issues.

“We make the company’s money and we deserve a say,” the letter reads in part.

In February, in response to the nationwide unionization drive at Starbucks stores, the company said it had agreed with Workers United to “begin discussions on a fundamental framework designed to achieve collective bargaining agreements, including a fair organizing process and the resolution of certain outstanding disputes.”

The July letter, sent on behalf of 15 stores, including two in metro Atlanta, claims that employees are not paid a living wage, are not respected and are not given fair working hours. It also says that these issues are affecting customers who “want better from the company and our community,” saying the company has lost customers because of these issues.

The letter also stated in part: “We can no longer tolerate these impacts on our community, our customers and our partners. We are coming together to make our stores a better place for all of us and we look forward to working with Starbucks to create these much-needed changes.”
