Weather alerts let you know when dangerous or severe weather is expected in Central Pennsylvania.

We immediately declare a Weather Alert Day as soon as severe weather is expected in our area. This is another tool in our arsenal that focuses on the exact details you need to know. It covers everything from the what and when to the actions you need to take to prepare for what’s coming. It’s a new tool with a different look and feel, but it’s the same commitment to keeping you informed and reassured no matter what lies ahead.

FOX43 meteorologists call for a Weather Impact Alert Day when conditions pose a threat to human life, cause nuisance, or affect a large number of people.

Dangerous thunderstorms, tornadoes, snow and ice, torrential rain, dangerous temperatures and other storms prompt FOX43 meteorologists to declare a day as “Weather Alert Day.”

Weather warning days also cover disruptive weather events such as dense fog, heavy rain and wind, or when suboptimal weather conditions are expected during major events or commuter times.
