Seligman man arrested for attempted murder

Seligman, AZ (July 9, 2024) – Last night, YCSO officers were called to a home in Seligman for a report of gunshots by a man. Since there was little information about the reported incident, officers made contact with the reporter when they arrived on scene. He stated that officers could hear the gunshots when they arrived on scene.

As officers planned to approach the property, a second caller to 911 reported that a person had been shot at the same location officers were currently located. The injured person turned out to be the original caller. Officers immediately entered the property where the home was located and noticed a suspect, 66-year-old Frank Ross, standing next to a vehicle. He did not obey verbal commands and was detained. Officers then located the victim (the original caller) inside the home and began to render aid. He appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators’ interview revealed that the victim lived on the same property as Ross, but in different homes. It was reported that an altercation had occurred between the victim and the suspect earlier in the day, with the suspect allegedly firing shots into the victim’s home, causing serious gunshot wounds.

The victim was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center. The victim was listed in critical condition and was scheduled for surgery early this morning. His current condition is unknown.

Ross was arrested for numerous crimes, including attempted murder, and taken to the county jail.
