Massachusetts State Police investigate hit-and-run accident involving fire truck on Route 495 – Fall River Reporter

A hit-and-run accident involving a fire truck is currently being investigated.

According to the Mansfield Fire Department, Mansfield Engine 33 was working on an MVA on Route 495 southbound just before Exit 27 in Norton at approximately 4:30 a.m. this morning when the engine was struck by a tractor-trailer.

There was no one in the engine at the time and there were no injuries in the subsequent accident.

The engine on the passenger side of the vehicle was significantly damaged.

The tractor-trailer did not stop after the accident. The only description of the tractor-trailer at this time is a TT unit with a white trailer with significant damage to the front driver side of the tractor-trailer portion.
