Man dies in road accident in Kottayam

A 50-year-old man was killed on Sunday when the auto rickshaw he was travelling in collided with a car near Kanakkari.

The deceased, identified as Jayaprasad, a native of Elappara who lived near Kanakkari, died in the accident which occurred around 12 noon.

According to police, the autorickshaw driver lost control of his vehicle while trying to avoid an abruptly stopped car, resulting in a collision with an oncoming vehicle. Jayaprasad was rushed to Kottayam Government Medical College Hospital where he was declared brought dead. A case has been registered.
