Two Albany men arrested in connection with Hudson Falls robbery

HUDSON FALLS – Two Albany men were recently arrested in connection with a burglary in Hudson Falls that resulted in injuries.

Rashan T. Yates, 24, and Jay’Quan A. Irizarry, 22, were arraigned July 1 in connection with a May robbery on Liberty Place in Hudson Falls. Both men were charged with one count of first-degree burglary, a Class B felony, as well as four counts of assault, one count of criminal damage to property and three counts of attempted coercion.

Hudson Falls Police reported that they were called to Liberty Place because several men had forced their way into a residence and were assaulting several people. One of the men was believed to have a handgun.

“The suspects fled the area on foot prior to police arrival,” Hudson Falls police said in a press release Friday.

Officers found the two men in the Oak Street area and arrested them without incident. Near a residence on Willow Street, officers recovered a revolver that was later found to be incapable of firing a projectile.
