Man attacked with sword in Pittsburgh hotel, police say – WPXI

A man is in jail after police say he attacked another man with a sword at a downtown hotel while they were in town for the Anthrocon convention.

On Thursday, officers were called to the Wyndham Grand Hotel around 1 a.m. because a bleeding man was calling for help.

A group was in a fifth-floor room when Jake O’Leary, 26, of South Carolina, began “wildly waving the sword” and attacking the victim, court documents say.

Officers discovered blood on the floor and walls of the hotel, as well as a sword in the entrance area of ​​the room.

The victim suffered a severe cut on his hand, police said.

O’Leary had a facial injury and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation before being transported to the Allegheny County Jail.

He is accused of aggravated assault. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 15.
