Fatal motorcycle crash – Scioto County Daily News

On the morning of July 3, 2024 at 10:24 a.m., the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol received a report of a motorcycle accident on SR 124 in Pike County.

The accident involved Caelem M. Knauff, 24, of Waverly, Ohio. Mr. Knauff was traveling east on SR 124 on his 2023 Kawasaki KLR650.

After he had overcome a small hill, he braked hard, causing the motorcycle to skid and hit a guardrail. Although Mr. Knauff was wearing a helmet, he succumbed to his injuries. No other vehicles were involved.

Several local agencies responded to the scene, including the Benton Township Fire Department, Portsmouth Emergency Services and the Pike County Coroner’s Office.
