KeyBank Gives a Boost with Automatic Thank You Machines

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A new type of ATM from KeyBank will be available at local events this weekend, but it’s not to help people manage their personal financial transactions. Instead, it’s a way for the bank to get things done.

“These are our mobile ATMs, and our latest brand campaign is all about meeting customers in the moment, so we’re taking that literally and meeting our customers in the moment,” Samantha Zardus, senior marketing consultant at KeyBank, told 2 On Your Side.

The ATMs are attached to the bikes and the “T” stands for “thank you.”

It could also mean “to treat.”

“We will be giving fans thank you cookies for this T and just thanking the Buffalo market for everything they do for Key Bank,” Zardus said.

Anyone can get a treat by simply entering their first name into the machine.

“They will receive a fun receipt and receive a cookie or a taco depending on the day,” Zardus said.

This holiday weekend marks the first time that automatic thank-you machines will hit the streets of Buffalo.

ATMs will offer baseball cookies at the Bisons’ Independence Eve celebration Wednesday night and tacos from Deep South Taco at Riverfest Park from 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Thursday, find them at Canalsie from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. with 4th of July cookies.
