An Aurora woman who was reported missing after attending an event in Greeley on June 13 was found dead outside Fort Lupton on Wednesday evening.

According to a Greeley Police Department news release, police recovered the body and vehicle of 19-year-old Leslie Vicente Vicente from a body of water near U.S. 85 and Weld County Road 22, about 5 miles north of Fort Lupton. An employee at a nearby gravel quarry called 911 after noticing signs that a vehicle had fallen into the water.

The press release does not indicate whether a crime is suspected or in which body of water the vehicle was found.

Officials from Greeley and Fort Lupton, as well as divers from the Greeley Fire Department and Fort Lupton Fire Protection District, responded. The divers recovered the body of the woman, the sole occupant of the submerged vehicle.

The Weld County Coroner identified the woman as Vicente Vicente Thursday morning and notified her next of kin.

Vicente Vicente drove to Greeley on June 13 for a religious event at Island Grove Regional Park, Greeley police reported Wednesday. She left the event around 9:10 p.m. and headed south on U.S. 85, where she was last seen at a gas station on 42nd Street in Evans.

Fort Lupton Police continue to investigate the death of Vicente Vicente. Anyone with possible information about the case who has not yet spoken to police can contact Fort Lupton Police at 303-857-4011.
