91-year-old Florida woman ‘sexually abused’ by 14-year-old Marion County teenager in ‘unimaginably brutal’ attack

In a horrific incident in Florida, a 14-year-old boy was accused of brutally beating and sexually assaulting a 91-year-old woman after breaking into her home.

The teen, identified by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office as Jesse Stone, was arrested near Reddick following the brutal attack.

According to a statement from the sheriff’s office on Facebook, the shocking incident occurred around midnight on June 9.

It says: “A 91-year-old victim was awakened to find a person creeping through her home. In a gruesome act of violence, she was beaten and sexually assaulted by the suspect.”

After a thorough investigation, Stone was arrested in connection with the gruesome crime. “By collecting DNA evidence, forensic investigators were able to positively identify the suspect,” the sheriff’s office explained.

“During an interview with Detective Caitlin Hartigan, Jesse Stone admitted to unlawfully entering the victim’s home, beating the victim, and then sexually assaulting her.”

Stone is currently being held at the Juvenile Justice Department.

Sheriff Billy Woods issued a statement on the incident: “I told everyone last week that we would find the person responsible, and we did. I am very proud of the hard work my detectives and forensics team did on this case to get to a quick resolution.”

“This type of unimaginable violence continues to shock me even after all my years in the police force. The Reddick community has shown resilience and support for us and their community throughout this time. I would also like to thank all the citizens who have given us tips and leads on this case.

“It was a shock that someone would commit such an act against a 91-year-old, but it is really disturbing when we see the young age of the man arrested. While I firmly believe he should be held accountable for his crime, as a father my sympathies go out to his family. Hopefully his arrest will lead to him receiving help so that further acts of this kind can be prevented.”
