Police charge four people with armed robbery of USPS employees in Charlotte and Greensboro

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – Several United States Postal Service employees were allegedly robbed at gunpoint in Greensboro and Charlotte on Monday.

According to Greensville police, the robbery occurred around 10:10 a.m. when a USPS employee attempted to deliver mail.

According to police, the same suspect then went to Charlotte and robbed more USPS employees.

The next day, the suspect’s car was found in Greensboro at around 2:40 p.m. Officers said they conducted a traffic stop and several suspects fled the scene.

One of the suspects, 18-year-old Jason Harrington, accidentally shot himself below the waist and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The other three suspects: Taijawan Cross, 19, Shaun Clark, 21, and Deonte Overby, 20, were taken into custody.

All four were charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of criminal conspiracy in connection with the armed robberies in Greensboro.

Further charges related to the Charlotte robberies are pending. The suspects are currently in the custody of the Guilford County Detention Center.
