First weather warning: Monday morning update | Weather

A pleasant week heading to the coast as temperatures return to near to slightly above average levels after a period of cooler weather. Some rain will cause problems until midweek.

Temperatures will start off quite cool this morning, reaching the 40s. Today will be quite pleasant overall, with temperatures rising to the low to mid 70s inland and mid 60s on the beaches. Sunshine is expected throughout the day on Monday.

Clouds will return to the region on Tuesday afternoon, but sunshine is expected early. Temperatures will rise into the mid-70s. A few showers are expected to occur in Delmarva Tuesday evening. These showers will intensify overnight.

Heavy rain returns

There could be another chance of heavy rain in Delmarva during the week due to a low pressure system there.

The heaviest rain is expected on Wednesday as a low pressure system moves through. There will likely be two showers on Wednesday, one in the early morning and another in the afternoon hours. Rainfall totals could approach an inch on Wednesday.

The weather returns to drier conditions in the second half of the week, before rain could return to the coast next weekend. For your complete First Alert weather forecast, be sure to check out CoastTV News Today.
