Arlington Police Release Dashcam Video After Fatal Shooting in City Park – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Arlington police announced they would release edited dashboard camera video on Tuesday showing a shootout with police officers after a woman was gunned down by her ex.

According to the department, Police Chief Al Jones will show “relevant portions of the dashboard camera footage” during a press conference at approximately 1 p.m. The press conference will be live-streamed at the top of this page.

Arlington police officers shot and killed 42-year-old Shannon Boyd on June 9 in “Red” Kane Park after they saw him pull out a gun and shoot a 40-year-old woman during an argument. Police administered first aid to both Boyd and the victim, but he did not survive. The woman continues to recover in the hospital, according to police. It was previously reported that the man and woman had a previous relationship.

The department only mentioned dashcam videos and did not say whether bodycam videos of the incident were available.

Both criminal and administrative investigations into the incident are ongoing. The officers involved in the incident are on paid administrative leave while the shooting is investigated.
