Laredo police are searching for the driver responsible for the traffic light failure

LAREDO, TX. (KGNS) – Police are searching for the driver responsible for a crash that resulted in damage to a traffic light in south Laredo Tuesday evening.

The accident was reported on May 8, 2024 just before 8 p.m. at the intersection of South Ejido Avenue and Cuatro Vientos Drive

According to Laredo police, a pickup truck allegedly left the roadway, rolled over and damaged a traffic light at the scene of the accident.

Police’s Jose Espinoza says the driver of the vehicle allegedly left the scene before officers arrived.

“At this time there have been no arrests and we have not been able to identify the suspect. This is an ongoing investigation,” Espinoza said. “We are trying to review surveillance footage to see if we can identify the driver who fled the scene.”

Espinoza added that no injuries were reported and AEP was hired to inspect the damage.
