Woman found dead in Portland

Portland police say the circumstances of her death are currently unknown.

PORTLAND, Oregon – A woman was found dead in northwest Portland on Sunday, according to the Portland Police Bureau (PPB).

At around 11:25 a.m., Portland police responded to the area of ​​Northwest 22nd Avenue and Northwest Kearney Street.

A KGW journalist reported that the deceased woman was sitting in a wheelchair near a hospital.

Police say the circumstances of her death are currently unknown. PPB detectives are at the scene.

According to PPB, Northwest Kearney Street will be closed between Northwest 22nd Avenue and Northwest 23rd Avenue during the investigation.

The woman’s identity will be released once the coroner has confirmed the cause of death.
