Man dies after falling into Chesapeake Pond

CHESAPEAKE, Virginia – A man died on Father’s Day morning after falling into a pond in Chesapeake, police confirmed.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., Chesapeake Police officers arrived on Red Cedar Ct. where they found a vehicle completely submerged in a pond.

The department’s dive team pulled the vehicle from the water and found an adult man inside.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neither the identity of the driver nor the motive or reason for the accident were disclosed.

The crash remains under investigation.
