Three killed in tragic rockfall incident near Pani Matha at Zojila Pass – Rising Kashmir

A tragic accident occurred near Pani Matha Zojila when a heavy stone fell on an Alto car, resulting in the instant death of two persons.

The car, which was travelling from Matayan to Kangan, was hit by the falling stone, seriously injuring three other passengers.

According to official sources, the incident occurred near Pani Matha area of ​​Zojila Pass. The impact of the rockfall was immediate and devastating, resulting in the death of two passengers on the spot. Rescue operations were immediately initiated with medical teams from Sonamarg, local police and locals rushing to the rescue.

The three injured were immediately rushed to the Primary Health Center (PHC) in Sonamarg. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, one of the injured succumbed to his injuries in the hospital, bringing the death toll to three.

The local community expressed their deep sadness over the incident and expressed their condolences to the families of the victims.
