Assam’s Transgender Association questions suspension of student over social media posts

Kohima: During the global Pride Month celebrations, a transgender student at South Point School in Guwahati, Assam, was suspended from school for posting a “sexualized” photo on her personal social media account.

The Class 11 student was suspended after posting photos of herself in a swimsuit on Instagram. In this regard, the State Transgender Welfare Board has officially written to the school seeking an explanation.
