York Region Police have filed additional sexual assault charges against a 40-year-old youth hockey coach after a second victim came forward.

In February, Kelvin Cheuk-Ho Lee of Whitchurch-Stouffville, a small town in southern Ontario, was arrested and charged with four counts of sexual assault and sexual abuse of a person under the age of 16 after a five-day police investigation was launched following initial information about a victim of sexual assault.

The alleged assaults took place when the victim was just eight years old and was taking private hockey lessons from 2016 to 2022. According to police, Lee has been a hockey coach throughout Ontario for many years.

Following initial reports of the arrest, police say another of Lee’s victims has come forward. The second victim was allegedly attacked at age 10 while attending Haliburton Hockey Haven, a hockey camp where Lee had worked as camp director since 2016. The 40-year-old now faces his fifth charge of sexual assault and sexual abuse of a person under the age of 16.

According to police, Lee also worked as a physical education coach for the York Region District School Board and also worked as a tennis instructor at the Markham Tennis Club.

Police are asking anyone with information related to the investigation to contact them at 1-866-876-5423, extension 7071, or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

Police also remind the public that sexual assault includes all non-consensual contact of a sexual nature and urge any potential victims of sexual assault to come forward and report the incident.
