Gunman shot dead by Houston police on Southeast Side

HOUSTON — A man was shot and killed by police Saturday in the Southeast, according to the Houston Police Department.

According to HPD, it happened on Comal Street near the intersection of Bellfort and Scott.

Police said the man was armed and shot by one or more officers. His condition was stable when he was transported to an area hospital.

No police officers were injured during the incident.

It’s unclear what the man was charged with, but police have called him a suspect.
