Suspect arrested in connection with Carpinteria Bluff fire – edhat

One person was arrested in connection with a fire on the Carpinteria Bluffs.

At 9:37 a.m. Thursday, the Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Department responded to reports of smoke on the Carpinteria Bluffs near the 6100 block of Carpinteria Avenue.

The first crew on scene reported light smoke. Firefighters contacted and extinguished the flames, confining them to a 20′ x 20′ area.

On Thursday afternoon, the Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District announced that the Sheriff’s Office had made an arrest in connection with the fire.

No further details were announced.

Firefighting at Carpinteria Bluffs

There was a small brush fire in the 6100 block of Carpinteria near the Carpinteria Bluffs this morning.

I didn’t see much of it, but it was a small trash fire that spread to nearby bushes. Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene.
