1 dead, 1 injured in south Houston house fire

One person has died in a house fire in south Houston.

The fire was reported at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the 3000 block of Friar Point Road. The flames were extinguished, but two people were seriously injured. One was later pronounced dead, while the other was taken to a nearby emergency room. The condition of the surviving victim is not available at this time.

Houston Fire Department investigators are still working to determine the exact cause of the house fire.
